Overview
As students’ health and emotional well-being improves, so does their academic performance. When students aren’t feeling well, they have a harder time learning. They may miss class a lot – and when they are in class, they might even have trouble paying attention. Giving kids and teens access to health care at schools puts them in a better position to learn. Our school based health centers offer a range of services to children, adolescents and the school community. Our services can include check-ups, lab tests, prescriptions, and regular visits for problems like asthma and diabetes.
Why school based health is important
A student’s health and emotional well-being has an effect on their performance in school.
It limits the chances of students having to miss school for appointments or the barriers of parents having to take off work.
Access to health care at schools puts students in a better position to learn.
